Pilates builds the strength that helps you move safer and more effectively.
Pilates and The Spinefitter
We all know what Joseph Pilates said that “you are only as young as your spine is flexible” and I think it is fair to say we all want to feel our spine has good movement. The shape & adaptability of the Spinefitter makes it the absolute ideal tool for so many clients at our Holywood Pilates Studio.
We are already receiving great feedback that it helps clients to feel each segment of their spine allowing them the ability to access more range in the areas they feel are not moving as freely. Unlike other things for example they may lie on for stability work the spine fitter gives the best of both worlds combining mobility and stability. At Polestar Pilates we believe and teach that stability is control of mobility. This is what we perceive to be deep core stamina and activation. With so many people constantly told by health professionals they need to improve that strength in their bodies the spinefitter is a really effective tool to complement our Pilates practice. We use Pilates exercises on the Spinefitter to also help aid fascia release in our bodies and help de-compress the spine.
For those of you who have just purchased one and want to experience the Spinefitter at home did I mention it is like having a massage without having to leave your home? I have had the opportunity to use the spinefitter each day for several weeks and develop a series of exercises that not only mobilise the spine, they invigorate the mind and bring the breath to a state of calm.
I have developed four online spinefiiter sessions, they are around 35 minutes long and will introduce you to the spinefitter and all the exercises and fascia release work. If you prefer to experience this ‘in-person’ I am also running a spineftter workshop on Saturday 19th October at 10am which will be 1.5 hours long. Bring your spinefitter with you or if you don’t have one yet just let me know as I have a couple spare…
