Join Emily on our Neck and Shoulders Pilates Workshop (open to all no need to have practiced Pilates before ).
A 1 and a half hour long Pilates session that is devoted to understanding the health and function of the shoulder girdle, improving posture and releasing neck and shoulder tension. The cost of the workshop is £15 per person and we will be using small props such as resistance bands, foam rollers and light weights.
Located at our studio in Holywood, our workshops are designed for small groups (max 6 people). They are the perfect way to enhance your own practice as we create specific programmes which are tailored to each workshop topic.
We are focusing this whole workshop on the shoulders and the neck because this is fast becoming the most problematic area of the body for many. These parts of the body don’t always get looked after in the way they need. If there are issues in these areas especially the neck and shoulders, it can be extremely uncomfortable and painful. Your daily routine could be affected as movement becomes restricted, which would ultimately affect posture and affect the upper and then the lower back.
We have designed a programme of exercises that strengthen the correct muscles to support the weight of the head, release the shoulders and create stability within the upper back which rebalances the spine. We will give you the understanding of how to increased the strength and support needed for your neck and shoulders and help increase your movement and mobility. And with practice will create habits for better posture!
